Losing a cat is one of the deepest aches a pet owner can feel. When you've spent nearly two decades together, from chaotic 3 a.m. kitten zoomies to the quiet company of a grumpy old gentleman who prefers his naps alone, it's like losing a piece of your own history. Watching them age is both a privilege and a heartbreak, a reminder of how fleeting our time with them really is.

That's what makes places like Fundacja Azyl u Hani in Poland so extraordinary. This sanctuary cares for around 130 chronically ill cats (many living with conditions like FELV, FIV, or paralysis), offering them not just medical care, but dignity, comfort, and love in their final chapter. Instead of spending their last days in loneliness or uncertainty, these cats sunbathe together, curl up in soft piles, and live out their time surrounded by others just like them.

  • The place is Fundacja Azyl u Hani (it's in Poland). They take care of around 130 dis ed cats (FELV, FIV, paralyzed, chronic illness). I understand that it could be hard for some people, but it really is a place filled with love and positive energy. It's not about crying about the loss, but to cherish the moments that we can give them.
